2. USE MANAGEMENT

Herring Island is one of few areas in the inner urban environment where one can escape from roads, concrete and other trappings of city life to a 'bush' setting. While Herring Island has potential as a significant recreation resource, recreational use and access must be carefully planned and managed to ensure environmental values and recreational quality are maintained.

In this section the major elements of Use Management are addressed: Access, Recreation, Community Education and Involvement and Structures and Utilities.
