THE MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Management Plan reviews Herring Island's resources and uses, examines management issues and principles, and details specific actions required. This includes an indication of management priorities, a summary of management resource requirements, and provision for future monitoring of Herring Island.

It should be recognised that planning is a dynamic, continuing process. Monitoring of the progress of revegetation, fauna populations, and patterns and effects of human usage should therefore he included in the planning process. It will therefore be necessary to review and update the Plan periodically. Provision for amendment of the Management Plan in the light of further information is necessary, as is further community consultation before such amendments are finalised in a revised plan.
